What other projects are there?

1 in 4 people are likely to be affected by mental health problems at some time in their lives. There are key risk factors that can contribute to mental health problems or exacerbate existing problems e.g. poverty, poor housing, debt, isolation, lack of social networks, low confidence and self-esteem, lack of physical activity.

Manchester Mind provides a range of services for young people and adults that are aimed at relieving those risk factors and then promoting better mental health.

All our services are focussed on either empowering people to deal with very practical but often stressful issues relating to benefits, debts and housing and then services that support people to develop new skills, build confidence, learn new or rediscover old skills, build social networks, feel valued.

They include: volunteering, cafe training placements, advice volunteering, advice work, growing projects, counselling for young people and interventions for people with diabetes
